Our corporate office is in Pascagoula, Jackson County, Mississippi. We have over 55 employees in our firm with almost all of them living here in coastal Mississippi. Our owners and project managers keep their phones on 24/7 and will respond after hours and even on weekends as needed. Compton Engineering has been in Jackson County for nearly four decades, but has expanded with offices in Hancock and Harrison counties. We believe that this is our community as well as yours and we share the same high expectations, devotion, and commitment to projects for the citizens … our neighbors … our friends … and our families.

Compton Engineering has developed into a diversified firm with over 55 local employees offering expertise in various disciplines of professional services including civil, structural, environmental, planning, modeling, estimating, scheduling, surveying, project management, construction management, energy management, and administrative services. Compton Engineering’s past success is attributed to dedicated service to our clients, our community, and our employees. We have always and will continue to put our local clients first, no matter the type, size, or complexity of a project. We have a proven track record in a wide array of projects from very small to extremely large. We take pride in treating every client and project with the highest level of professionalism possible.
Thirty-eight years after opening an office in Jackson County, Compton Engineering is now the largest engineering firm on the Mississippi Gulf Coast and the 5th largest in the State of Mississippi as recognized by the American Council of Engineering Companies of Mississippi.

Employee Spotlight

  • Kenny Smith, RPR Kenny Smith has been employed with Compton Engineering since July 2007 as a resident project representative at the Bay St. Louis office. He defines his job description as project inspection and contractor compliance (herding cats). He and wife Ruby have been married 32 years and have four children, Ken, Cher, Victoria and Nolan. They also have five grandchildren. Pets include a rabbit, assorted fish, and a turtle. Kenny’s hobbies and interests include fishing, hunting, swimming, reading and gardening. His first vehicle was a 1955 Ford Coupe. His first job was working on his Uncle’s cattle ranch. Other occupations have included nurse, computer tech, carpenter, loadmaster, deckhand and employment counselor. His favorite meal is shrimp. His favorite candy bar ...
